Plan a honeymoon with a difference in North India during the cool winter, exploring Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttaranchal, and Utter Pradesh.

Visit Thailand in this great season and book a luxury spa stay on the coast of the Andaman Sea, in Phuket, Krabi, Khao Lak or somewhere along the west side. The weather is still pretty hot for a honeymoon in February even though it’s the ‘cool’ season.

Enjoy a week of romance on the island of Anguilla and the famous Rendezvous Bay, or take a boat tour to discover secreted coves and beaches. The weather is nice and hot, so it’s ideal for sunbathing.

City Breaks

Skip the crazy Christmas rush and visit Prague in February when the weather is chilly but not freezing. Winter is still in the air and there are some fantastic things to do in the city, including great nightlife.

Enjoy warm weather in Dubai with averages of 25°C and 11 hours of sunshine every day. Go shopping in the designer malls, see the sights, and wind down on the beautiful Jumeirah Beach.

Nature Breaks

For the best nature holiday in February time, Borneo is a must. The island is home to the UNESCO site of Kinabalu Park as well as the protected Gunung Mulu National Park.

Places to avoid

There are plenty of places that you wouldn’t want to visit in February, including most of Europe where the weather is miserable.

Here’s where you should avoid visiting in February…

  • Northern Europe – there’s a high chance the weather will be dreadful and you’ll end up indoors most of the time. You could get away with a cultural city break, but we’d suggest coming another time.
  • Madagascar – it’s rainy season in Madagascar so don’t head there hoping for a once in a lifetime wildlife trip when you’re more likely to be stuck staring out the window.

Here’s what we would do

February is a great time to visit Asia, and there are lots of options in Thailand, Burma and Borneo. But we’d head to Sri Lanka.

It’s the perfect time to visit with beautiful weather and low risk of rain. You can cruise along the coast and stop in undeveloped beach towns, watching the legendary stilt fisherman at work.

The wildlife is stunning with whale watching and national parks packed with elephants and other safari icons.

Then there are the fascinating cultural places like a pilgrimage to Adam’s Peak or the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy. Unforgettable.
